The Kleivane and Nordmøre Fiskeindustri plants have specialised in the drying of fish using modern equipment developed by Portuguese experts. Vevang, Stamsund, Henningsvær, Framnes and Gjesvær produce wet-salted fish. Our production plants are situated close to the fishing banks along the Norwegian coast. Our products include: fresh fish, frozen fish, wet-salted fish, dry-salted fish, stockfish and cod roe. Total production area: 41,400 square metres.

 

1. Jangaard Stamsund

Jangaard Stamsund was taken over in 1973. The plant which covers an area of 2,500 square metres receives fresh fish for salting and hangs the fish up to dry. The plant is run by Egil Eliassen.
 

2. Framnes Fiskeindustri AS

… in the municipality of Andøy was acquired by Jangaard in 1998, but it has been a stable partner and supplier of salted fish for many years. The company owns 50 % of Andøybuen, 50 % of Andøytind, two fresh fish trawlers and 50 % of the marine facility at Andenes. Rolf Røsnes, former owner and manager, is the general manager.
 

3. Jangaard Henningsvær

Jangaard Henningsvær was taken over in 1975. The plant which covers an area of 1200 square metres receives fresh fish for salting and hangs the fish up to dry. The plant is run by Stein Tore Fredriksen.
 

4. Nordmøre Fiskeindustri

At 12,500 square metres, Nordmøre Fiskeindustri in Averøy is one of the world's biggest drying plants for bacalao. The plant also supplies fresh fish and salted fish. The plant is managed by Kristian Bjørn Lyse.
 

5. AS Kleivane

Kleivane in Ålesund is a drying plant for bacalao and specialises in production for the Portuguese market. The plant covers an area of 7,200 square metres and is managed by Harald Rørvik.
 

6. Jangaard Vevang

Vevang Fiskeindustri in Eide produces and delivers cartons of salted fish to Greece, Spain and Italy. The plant covers an area of 8,000 square metres and is managed by Lars Johan Dyb.
 

7. North Export AS, Gjesvær

North Export AS is 50 %-owned by Jangaard and 40 % by Erling Walsøe. The company is engaged in the production of salted fish and the sale of fresh fish in cooperation with Russia. The company also owns 33 % of the shares in Arkangelskryb Prom, a shipowning company based in Murmansk.
